Enemies
What’s a girl to do when the only person who can help her is the man who betrayed her? After years away, Miranda returns to Salvation, Virginia to save her family’s brewery, but her fate is in the hands of her first lover turned enemy, Logan Martin.

Lovers
Logan, Salvation’s de facto prince, can’t believe his luck when the woman who smashed his heart to smithereens walks into his bank asking for his help. What she doesn’t know is he needs the land her brewery is on. When she tempts him with a bet—if she wins, he gives her the loan; if he wins, she forfeits the land—he knows it’s a sure thing.

An Irresistible Combination
But soon it’s a battle between their attraction for each other and their determination to win, and it’s in each other’s arms that they realize there might be more at stake now than the bet. With the town dead set against the Sweet Salvation Brewery’s success, Logan has to choose between what’s expected of him and what he really wants—even if helping Miranda means she’ll run out of his life once again.
My Review:
Three stars
ARC received for an honest review
This was my first time reading Avery Flynn so I was not sure what to expect! It was a pleasant surprise! I really enjoyed this story and couldn't put it down.

Miranda Sweet was a great heroine! I really liked her and admired her.  She was tough and a go-getter.  There were many obstacles in her way.  It seemed that almost everyone was against her.  After her and her sisters inherit their uncles brewery in their hometown, Salvation, they set out to salvage what is left of it.  The Sweet family has a reputation, through no fault of the sisters, and they are looked down in Salvation.  Their family legacy has marked them and it seems that the only way the sisters were able to be successful is by leaving. Now they return successful and ready to show the town that they are successful and have not followed in their relatives footsteps.

Logan Martin is Salvations golden boy. He is from the right side of the tracks. Logan works for his father and although his father keeps threatening to retire he still pulls the strings.  Logan's family owns the town's bank.  When Miranda comes to him for a long to save the brewery he turns her down.

Logan and Miranda have a very long history.  They had a brief fling when they were younger but Miranda left.  Although they have not seen each other in years they still feel a heavy pull towards each other.  I really liked Miranda but I had a harder time with Logan. He was basically a jerk for a large part of the story.  Really, almost every character in this story was. The towns people, the mayor, Logan's father, the brewery works, they are all so sinister and down right mean.  This was a big hang up for me.  I thought that Miranda and her family didn't deserve so much disdain from practically ALL the characters in the story.  Even Logan was on the borderline in terms of being sinister.  Overall, this was a fantastic story. Logan and Miranda have an excellent connection. I really recommend and enjoyed this story.
